The company “New Cement” is the exclusive owner of an ash deposit in Georgia. Ash is widely used in soil strengthening/stabilization processes and helps to reinforce both - the lower and upper layers of the foundation.
Using ash for constructing road infrastructure, airport runways, aircraft aprons and access ways, ports, and container terminals offers a range of advantages.
In road and aviation construction, ash is utilized in accordance with international standards (EN 14227; PN-S-96035; ARMY TM 5-822-14; AIR FORCE AF JMAN 32-1019) for setting up runways, aprons, and access roads.
The primary uses are as follows: Soil strengthening - stabilization Reinforcement of the foundation's lower and upper layers Our technology helps to avoid:
Cutting, removing, and discarding at least 30-40 cm of soil;
Importing and compacting 30-40 cm of inert material;
Using bitumen emulsion, especially considering the low quality of imported bitumen in Georgia, which also prevents currency outflow.
Additionally:
We significantly reduce construction timelines, particularly under adverse weather conditions.
We enhance the structure’s durability due to its impermeability to water.
Consequently, using ash for stabilization provides 20-30% cost savings compared to other technologies and considerably reduces construction timelines.
This technology also promotes the utilization of industrial waste (ash), supporting Georgia’s compliance with the Kyoto and Paris Protocols. With the above-mentioned technology, compacted concrete is also produced.
This type of concrete has a very low water-cement ratio, which allows it to be laid with standard asphalt pavers and then compacted with tamping machines.
Compacted concrete is mainly used for constructing roads and pavements subject to heavy loads, such as airport runways, aircraft aprons, access ways, ports, and container terminals. Compacted concrete serves as an alternative to both asphalt concrete and traditional concrete, not only due to economic benefits during construction, therefore, asphalt concrete typically requires major repairs every five years, whereas compacted concrete is highly durable (averaging 20 years) compared to conventional concrete.
Unlike regular concrete, compacted concrete does not require reinforcement or dowels, resulting in a 30-35% savings compared to asphalt concrete and a 10% savings compared to standard concrete paving.
The use of compacted concrete is increasingly popular worldwide due to its physical and economic properties and the relative ease of installation, as it does not require costly concrete-laying machines.
The concrete is laid by standard asphalt pavers and compacted with tampers, making it quick to put into operation.
The production, laying, compaction, maintenance, and control of compacted concrete meet the following international standards (ACI. 325.10R-95; ACI. 207.5R; US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS EM 1110-2-2006; IS 009; IS 233; IS 332, among other regulatory documents).
